"Walking the path is the skill that needs to be learned."
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor dedicated to helping motivated individuals become more empowered in their own lives. I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade.
In 2015, after experiencing the most painful personal upheaval of my life, I discovered that going for walks outside was a simple, yet fundamentally life-changing coping skill for me. Six years later, I started my own private practice based on learning how to transmute anger, anxiety, depression, fear, grief, loss, and tears into strength through physical movement in my own life.
My specialized approach utilizes movement (walking during the counseling session) as well as ecotherapy (being outside in nature), along with traditional talk therapy and evidence based practices.
I am looking for highly motivated clients who are willing to walk the path with me, rain or shine. My goal in counseling is for clients to actually and metaphorically step into their own light and power. This is why Suntherapy LLC was born.
I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy for the treatment of trauma symptoms. This scientifically backed approach utilizes Rapid Eye Movement in order to address problematic symptoms that people have often suffered with for years. This has been used on a wide variety of populations with positive outcomes, including veterans and first responders. This is a scripted protocol that takes place indoors, and typically requires a 1 1/2 hour appointment.
Walk with me!
